East Africa’s most romantic coastal getaway, Kipungani Explorer, also become one of its most adventurous this month, when the region’s most experienced watersports provider launched a host of new ocean- and creek-based activities at this legendary Lamu Island resort.

Buccaneer, officially launched a thrilling schedule of watersports activities and excursions at Kipungani. In addition to the resort’s existing fleet of five sea kayaks, guests now have access to five brand new windsurfers, two agile Laser funboats, and two child-friendly Topper dinghies. Sailing excursions are free of charge to all guests, while an experienced instructor will also be on hand to provide lessons to less experienced sailors.

The sailing activities supplement a lively schedule of existing oceanic activities, including deep-sea fishing, waterskiing, tubing, and snorkelling on the colourful reefs of Manda Toto and Kinyika islands – famed as the home of Kenya’s most fearlessly friendly dolphins. Kipungani is also blessed with three of its own traditional Arab sailing dhows, which provide the ultimate in romantic sundowners and enchanting champagne cruises.
